A Spicy Problem
I’ll sometimes be eating a taco, and to add pizazz, I’ll add some spicy and delicious hot sauce, but what if I told you that could have possibly led you to break out in hives, nausea, wheezing, and so much more simply because of a mistake?
According to Fox News, Texas Pete, which in fact is a North Carolina-based hot sauce company under the T.W. Garner Food Company, came under fire on April 3rd after not properly disclosing the ingredients included in their Texas Pete Habanero Buffalo Sauce and Texas Pete Sweet CHAbanero sauce distributed from February 5th to March 26. Vendors and consumers are affected in states such as their home state of North Carolina. New Jersey, Vermont, and 7 more.
Unfortunately for the company, this isn't the first time they’ve faced a recall. Last year, the company had 50,000 bottles recalled due to not disclosing the accidental usage of soy in their Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce, which could be fatal to those with severe allergies.
